Program Overview:

In the Creative Producing program, you’ll learn about international best practices and the principles of producing, line producing and production management, where planning is king, and the devil is in the detail.

You will learn how to produce for specific market outcomes, and gain an understanding of risks involved in TV and film production, how to work with budgets and schedules and how to ensure the production lines up with creative and technical expectations as well as investment and spend. A creative producer works closely with a director and production staff, and so you’ll also come to gain some experience of what it’s like to lead a disciplined team.

Who is this program for?

If you like to problem-solve, organise people and resources, are interested in what it takes to bring a film or TV project to fruition, and how to align the planning and budget to the creative vision, then this is the program for you.

This will kickstart your career, whether you want to become a TV or film producer, or if you want to work in the marketing and distribution side of the business.

A minimum of a High School Certificate is desirable while proof of proficiency in English Language is required. A High School Certificate is equivalent to a BEPC/BAC in France and a University Degree is equivalent to a BTS/Licence/Master.

Appie Matere boasts a 19 years career in African entertainment content, she is affiliated with numerous successful TV shows, documentaries and films. These include ‘Killer Necklace' - Best short film and best Director Awards (Kalasha, 2009) and ‘Headlines in History’ -a feature Documentary -Best Feature documentary (Kalasha 2010). She is also the reigning Best Female producer for the inaugural Women in Film Awards 2020. She was the Executive Producer on hallmark TV productions that have left an indelible mark across Africa, including KINA - 930 Episodes Telenovela- (winner Best TV series Kalasha awards 2022) “KONA” –260 episodes Telenovela, JELA 5 STAR – 130 episodes comedy and 71X 60 minutes Tv movies Africa Magic Original Films (AMOF). In her capacity as the CEO of Zamaradi Productions Limited, Appie oversaw an exceptional output of over 140 hours of independently produced entertainment content, This content has predominantly entertained Pan-African audiences on MNET, Showmax, StarTimes and Zuku Pay-TV platforms. In July 2019 she oversaw the production and launch of a feature Film entitled “Dream Child”, which won Best East Africa Film at the Uganda Film Festival (2021) and Clean Content film at KISAA Awards (2020). In 2022 she produced two feature films “Kikpemboi” official selection AFRIFF 12th Edition held in Nigeria lagos and screened at the prestigious Pan African Film Festival in LA PAFF24! and “Kazdo” currently in post - production. Appie's contributions also extend to education, training the next generation of filmmakers at Multichoice Talent Factory (MTF) making her a multifaceted leader in African entertainment.
